Biography

Sourav Ghosh is a historian specializing in the political culture of South Asia from a transnational perspective. His research and teaching interests include comparative empires, religion and politics, ethnohistory, and the Indian Ocean World. Prior to joining Lehigh University, he was a visiting lecturer in the Department of History at UC Berkeley. He received his PhD from the Department of History at UC Berkeley and completed both his undergraduate and master’s degrees at Jadavpur University in Kolkata.
